Beatty High School partners with the Close Up program to give students a powerful, real-world lesson in American government, history, and culture. During this multi-day trip to Washington, D.C. and New York City, students visit monuments and memorials, explore Smithsonian museums, tour the U.S. Capitol, and meet with our senator and representative on Capitol Hill. They also experience New York City’s Financial District, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island, gaining a deeper understanding of economics, immigration, and the forces hat shaped our nation.
Project: Indian Springs Well Rehabilitation
Date: 1/7/2025
Amount: $43,432.55

This project is important to the community to ensure the wells are performing in optimal condition. It is the board's understanding that the Indian Springs and EW-4 well have not been service in a long time. This grant will help provide the community with a reliable water source and help eliminate any emergency repairs. This project will also ensure the reliability and efficiency of the distribution system and be primed to support new demand on the system due to population growth. Worst case, there is a catastrophic failure at one of the well sites, that would not allow BWSD to provide adequate supply of potable water.
Project: Washer / Dryer purchase
Date: 2/24/2025
Amount: $2,000.00

Beatty Seniors Inc. operates the Beatty Senior Center providing meals for seniors, guests, and homebound. The kitchen requires rags and cloths that are used daily to be washed/sanitized & dried. We do not have a washer or dryer that is operable. The previous washer/dryers have been used and only usually last approximately 6 months. We need a reliable washer and dryer. This impacts the seniors, guests, and our community.
Project: Medical Equipment purchase for the Beatty Medical Clinic
Date: 2/24/2025
Amount: $17,350.00
Project: Pyro Tech equipment for firework launching
Date: 9/10/2025
Amount: $19,979.58

The Beatty Volunteer Fire Department has organized the town’s Fourth of July fireworks for over 60 years, drawing residents and visitors from across the region. This event fosters community pride and brings people together. However, the current manual process is hazardous for our volunteers. The requested equipment will reduce risk, ensure a safer operation, and help preserve this valued tradition while prioritizing public safety.
Project: Wrestling Mats
Date: 9/10/2025
Amount: $15,938.04

Investing in new wrestling mats for Beatty High School isn’t just about replacing old equipment; it is a critical step toward promoting student-athlete safety, enhancing performance, and fostering economic benefits within our community. Our current wrestling mats, after years of dedicated use, have reached a point where they no longer adequately serve the needs of our student-athletes or uphold the high standards we strive for in our athletic programs. The new mats will also allow BHS to host wrestling meets both within Nye County and while also allowing schools across the state to use our facilities.
